Hello everyone,
According to a 1-10 scale, I would grade as follows:
To my physical well being I think is at 4; because I had a car accident and now I am in the process of recuperation from neck surgery. Since my movement has been limited, I have not being able to exercise as I used to and as a result I still have not lost the extra pounds I have.
My spiritual well being I consider is at 6. After the accident, I had problems with my faith in the sense that I could not understand why that accident had happened to me, when I am a very careful driver and a young reckless driver changed my life completely in just a couple seconds. I think my spiritual being was at its lowest level. Now it has been getting higher.
I think my psychological well being is the highest at 7. As a result of the physical pain and spiritual down hill, my psychological being has been affected and has room for improvement.
Goals
Physical: loose those ugly pounds and be back in shape.
Spiritual: I want to be able to have a deeper spiritual life.
Psychological: I want to beat stress and have a more relaxed life.
Activities to reach those goals:
Physical ~ Right now I am just following Doctor's orders and since my movement is quite limited; there is not much I can do and I will have to wait until I can start exercising again. What I have been doing is watching closely what I eat and keeping as healthy as possible, so I will not gain anymore weight.
Spiritual ~ Praying has been great for me. I am interested on meditation to get a boost and I know this class will help me achieve it.
Psychological ~ I have been taking the positive side of things and as a result I feel better within myself. I have to manage my time more wisely and want to practice relaxation therapies to fight stress.
The Crime of the Century exercise was new to me and I found it quite relaxing. At first I felt like "out of place" because of the continuous soft voice. But I understand that is the way it has to be to relax.
I enjoyed it even though I had several interruptions by my children, I will try it again some other time when I can be by myself.
Thank you for your time.
I can understand how you feel when you say that your faith is suffering. And let me tell you, even though we don't know eachother... it's okay. It's okay to feel the way that you do. I am an atheist. I have been my entire life. Somethings you just know and feel. But I've seen it so many times, people losing faith in their supreme being because of some accidental moment. It's perfectly natural. I'm sure that you've heard so many people tell you that is is God's way... and he has a plan.... From all the things that happened to me in my life... I woulnd't have an ounce of faith myself. You'll figure it out and maybe one day you'll raise your number a bit. Take care and keep on keeping on.
ReplyDeleteI understand how sometimes after a traumatic event it can be hard to keep a strong faith. In these times one may question the relevance of a higher being but in fact this is the time time rely even more on that outside power to help you find you inner strength. I am glad to hear that you have found prayer helpful. I know that through many hardships in my life all I could do was pray. Often times I would simply asking God "Why" and even though that is a question that doesn't ever really receive an answer it was a good feeling to just know that someone elase was in control. Good luck on your journey.
